10. The AAC is Open to all Golfers
One of the top reasons to join the AAC golf tournament is that it is open to all golf players, regardless of age and skill level. There are flights for Men, Women, Youth, and Seniors. The AAC’s mission is to provide a competitive golf tournament for players of all skill level, sex, and age. The only requirement is players participating in the AAC must have an established Handicap through the USGA, or other acceptable handicap index. If you do not have a USGA Handicap, there is time to play at least 10 rounds of golf to establish a Handicap. You may also contact us for more information about establishing a Handicap.
9. AAC Fair Play Committee
The American Amateur Championship values itself on the highest quality of competition, sportsmanship, and fair play. In order to ensure the quality of competition, we have created the AAC Fair Play Committee. This Committee is established to promote fair play and sportsmanship, along with establish a standard of excellence which is the foundation of the American Amateur Championship. The Fair Play Committee will review each players handicap and will determine the flight each player will compete in, based on the players Handicap. Handicaps are adjusted, as needed, and the Fair Play Committee reserves the right to disqualify any golfer from the tournament for cheating or sandbagging. All decisions made by the Committee are final. The Fair Play Committee helps ensure all golfers will have the best golf tournament experience while competing in the AAC.
8. Compete in the AAC Par 3 Challenge
The AAC is all about maintaining the competitive spirit, all while having fun. So you have been struggling off the tee with your driver all week, but your short irons and putting game have been great. Well, you probably have a good chance of winning the AAC Par 3 Challenge. The Par 3 Challenge is just one of the side competitions that you can win at the AAC tournament. Every golfer will play 3 guaranteed rounds of golf, and each golf course typically has 4 Par Threes, for a total of 12 Par 3’s played during the tournament. The player with the lowest total score from each flight on all 12 of the Par 3’s will win the AAC Par 3 Challenge, along with a prize. There are also competitions such as long drive, closest to the pin, low round etc. that the winners are awarded prizes.
7. Compete in Tournament Golf

6. Access to the Tacoma Golf Show
Located at the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center, after each round of golf, players will have VIP access to the nightly celebration and party at the AAC 19th Hole. Enjoy some of the finest wines and micro brews that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Prizes and give-aways, along with revealing of leader boards will occur. This is a perfect time to socialize and network with your fellow golfers. You will be able to share stories about your rounds of golf and get to know golfers just like yourself that share the same passion for the game of golf.

The AAC is giving away some great prizes. Each participant in the tourney will receive a welcome package, which includes an AAC Commemorative Hat and Polo, along with a pair of golf shoes! Flight Champions will receive AAC Trophies, along with awards and prizes for the top contestants of each flight. The AAC Champion receives a Western Carribean cruise for two. Other prizes include the Par 3 Challenge prizes and more.
4. Play some of the Best Golf Courses in the Pacific Northwest
The AAC has some of the best golf courses in the Region, including Trophy Lake, Gold Mountain, and Chambers Bay to name a few! In case you haven’t heard, Chambers Bay was ranked the Best New Course in 2007 by Golfweek and Golf Magazine. It is also the location of the 2010 US Amateur Championship and 2015 US Open.
As a player in the American Amateur Championship, you will have an opportunity to play in the American Amateur Championship at one of the best courses in the Nation! The top AAC players from each flight will qualify to play at Chambers Bay on Sunday, and compete to win your flight and be crowned American Amateur Champion.
